Vandana Anand
- A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
I am Vandana Anand. I proudly represent the vibrant heart of Punjab. Ever since I was a little girl, it has been my dream to stand on a stage like this. Being an Ambitious and confident woman is something I take pride in. Married to an Army officer and having two beautiful daughters has been the greatest motivation in my journey. I hold a master’s degree in software application and certification as an early childhood educator. Music is my soul, from where I get all my inspiration. Although I am a software engineer, I have devoted my life to the beautiful art of dance and fitness. I find my strength as a certified Zumba instructor and a face yoga instructor. From teaching small children to high-level college students, I have been a faculty member, providing love and guidance to all my students. I believe that with hard work and passion, we can all achieve our dreams.
- Your Achievements that make you feel high.
My greatest achievement is not just my own, but a shared one with my family. For the past three years, while my husband has been serving our nation, I have had the honour of being my daughters' sole caregiver. Raising them all on my own has taught me resilience and a journey filled with both challenges and immense joy. I have had many professional successes, from earning my master’s degree in Software Application to receiving the best teacher appreciation award. The achievements that truly make me feel 'high' are the moments I successfully transformed my lifelong passion for dancing into my profession as a Zumba and Face Yoga instructor.
- Define the true beauty.
True beauty is not about how we look, it’s about how we make an impact on the world around us. True beauty is the reflection of our inner world onto the lives of others. It starts with the essential truth that beauty lies inside the person. It's the sum of your character, your compassion, and the resilience you show when pursuing your dreams. However, outer beauty also matters because it reflects your commitment to a healthy, disciplined life. As a fitness and yoga instructor, I know that taking care of your body is a sign of self-respect. The most beautiful people are those who have perfectly balanced their inner light with their external health, showing the world that they are complete, strong, and ready for service. I define true beauty as balance.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
For me, a complete, healthy, and happy family is built on a shared commitment to well-being, which is strengthened through nutritious food and active lifestyles. Taking care of each other's needs, standing together through the challenging ‘ups and downs’ of life. The genuine, deep connection where you truly enjoy each other’s company and celebrate each other’s successes.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
As an army wife moving across different states taught me that the world's beauty lies in its diversity... In the unique ways people live, the food they cook, and the beautiful customs they cherish. My perfect holiday is wherever my family is. It's not about the destination, it’s about the dedication to enjoying every moment of life with the people I love. I believe the greatest luxury is time and attention. When we are fully present with those we love, we don't just take a break from life, but we cherish every moment we spend together.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
"I am participating because this is the fulfilment of a childhood dream. For years, watching these beautiful, powerful women walk the stage was my greatest inspiration. Now, standing here, my purpose is to show every married woman that it is never too late to honour her inner ambition. I want to use this stage not just to fulfil my own dream, but to become a living example for other ladies that confidence and self-worth are the true 'Substance' we must all chase."
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
The thing that bothers me is related to the protection of the girls, especially the girl child. I still see news of harassment, abuse, and a general lack of safety that prevents girls from pursuing their dreams without fear. Girls still don't feel safe going to school, playing outside, or even being in their own homes. If I were to win this crown, I would partner with schools to start 'Safety and Self-Worth' workshops for all children. This isn't just about teaching girls how to be safe; it’s about teaching everyone, especially boys, to respect women and value safety as a community responsibility. We must create a country where every little girl feels strong, protected, and free to chase her future."
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
Stop comparing yourself to other people, you’re only on this planet to be you. Not someone else’s imitation of you.
- What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
True sportsmanship is about having a positive attitude, showing respect for everyone, whether they are teammates or opponents, competing fairly, and being gracious whether you win or lose. Having a positive attitude and focusing on the effort and the joy of competition.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
I will conduct workshops on how to "Maintain Yourself," focusing on simple, practical topics like basic nutrition, the importance of hydration, fundamental hygiene practices, and the benefits of daily physical activity. To educate girls on how they can keep themselves safe in today's society. Educate them about "Safety & Self-Defence" programs that combine practical self-defence techniques with critical awareness. This includes understanding safe public spaces, online safety, and knowing their legal rights.
