Sheetu Bhat Jha
- A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
I am a practicing lawyer in Delhi Courts, originally from Jammu & Kashmir, a proud NCC cadet. I am also a mother of 11-year-old daughter. My family and friends are my greatest strength. My personality is resilient, disciplined, empathetic and compassionate. My persona reflects dignity with determination. Life has taught me courage, patience, leadership and to live every moment. I believe in standing for justice, uplifting women, and creating positive change through action. I take challenges head on with positive attitude and I take responsibilities with confidence. I am a woman who balances profession, social work and family with pride, believing that strength and kindness together define true power.
- Your Achievements that make you feel high.
My greatest achievement is building my identity as an independent lawyer in a male dominated profession simultaneously encouraging young women to realise that gender is not an obstacle. Coming from a small town in Kashmir and establishing myself professionally in competitive environment gives me immense pride. Being an NCC cadet shaped my discipline and leadership skills. Every time I help a woman seek justice or guide someone in need, it feels like a true achievement. Raising my daughter with strong values and confidence is another accomplishment close to my heart. For me, achievements are not only awards but the lives I positively impact and the strength I develop through every challenge.
- Define the true beauty.
For me true beauty lies in the soul of the person. It lies in kindness, confidence, and compassion. A beautiful person reflects honesty, respect, and empathy towards others. True beauty is visible in your everyday behaviour of how you speak and treat people around you and standing firm for what is right. Beauty is the courage to be authentic and the strength to uplift others. When inner values reflect in actions, that is true beauty. A pure heart and a powerful mind together create the most attractive personality.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
I believe a complete and happy family is built on love, respect, and communication. It is not about perfection but about understanding and supporting each other during ups and downs. Emotional security, mutual trust, and shared responsibilities strengthen family bonds. For me a happy family is the one which celebrates small moments together and faces challenges as a team. Being a healthy family means physical well- being as well as mental peace among every member of family. A family becomes complete when every member feels valued and heard. When children grow in a positive environment filled with encouragement and strong values that is true happiness and completeness.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
My favourite idea of holidaying is spending quality time with my family not necessarily at a particular destination but given a choice I will opt for a place which is surrounded with nature’s beauty. I love places with mountains and calm surroundings because it reminds me of Kashmir. A holiday for me is about reconnecting with nature, relaxing the mind, and creating beautiful memories with loved ones. I prefer meaningful travel where I can explore culture, local traditions, and simple joys. It is less about luxury and more about bonding. A perfect holiday refreshes the soul, strengthens relationships, and brings new energy to return stronger and more focused in life.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
I am participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance to represent strength, dignity, and purpose. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother and a professional, I believe women can balance ambition and responsibility with grace. This platform celebrates substance over superficial beauty, which aligns with my values. I want to inspire women to believe in their abilities and never limit themselves because of societal expectations. Through this journey, I aim to raise awareness about women’s rights and empowerment. It is not just a competition for me, it is a mission to grow, learn, and create meaningful impact.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
What bothers me most is the lack of awareness about rights and responsibilities among citizens. As a lawyer, I see how misinformation, intolerance, and inequality affect society. Crimes against women and children deeply disturbs me. While our country is progressing in many areas, there is still a need for stronger moral values and accountability. Development should include education, gender equality, and respect for diversity. I believe real progress happens when law, empathy, and unity work together. We must focus on becoming a responsible citizenship and collective growth for a safer and stronger nation.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
The quote that encourages me is by author RS Grey, a female author wherein her book “Scoring Wilder” she writes “She believed she could, so she did.” This line reminds me that confidence begins within. Challenges are part of life, but belief in oneself turns obstacles into opportunities as our Hon’ble Prime Minister also said “Aapda main Avsar”. As a lawyer and mother, I have faced demanding situations and self- belief has always guided me forward. This quote motivates me to trust my preparation, stay focused, and never give up. It teaches me that strength is not about never losing but about rising every time with courage. Self-belief is the foundation of every achievement.
- What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
For me, true sportsmanship is about strength of character and attitude. It represents impartiality, respect, modesty, integrity and self-analysis. It means giving your best performance while honouring your competitors. Winning with humbleness and losing with dignity define real character. Sportsmanship teaches discipline, teamwork, and determination. It is not just about competition but about personal growth and sometimes losing with dignity provides you with deeper insights than winning. Appreciating others’ efforts and encouraging them reflects true spirit. For me, sportsmanship also means maintaining ethical values in every field of life whether in sports, profession, or society. A true sportsperson respects rules, accepts outcomes gracefully, and continuously strives to improve.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
If selected as a Charity Ambassador, I would focus on legal awareness and women empowerment. Many women & vulnerable persons suffer silently because they are unaware of their rights. I would organize workshops, legal aid camps, and mentorship programs to educate women about laws and self-reliance. As a lawyer, I can contribute by providing guidance and building support networks. My goal would be to create confident, informed women who can stand for themselves. Empowered women strengthen families, and strong families build a progressive society.
