I have worked as an anchor in many episodes of a “Hindi Literature” show “Patrika” aired on DD National. From an early age till date, I have worked in educating kids and youth of different economic strata. Beyond these, I believe my greatest achievement is the role that I play as a dignified daughter, loving and caring wife and a nurturing mother and teacher to my children.
- Define the true beauty.
For me knowledge about one’s abilities, self-worth and self-image is a crucial part of defining true beauty. When we know ourselves inside-out, we can build a beauty regimen that enhances our true essence. It is knowing that we are “enough” and no set standard can define us. It also lies in how well we carry our roots, heritage, culture and our personal unique style with utmost etiquettes and manners. Above all, true beauty for me is kind and compassionate hearted person who can radiate his /her light to uplift anyone.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
Complete family for me is when the relationship among all the members of the family is based on mutual respect, love, understanding and trust. Complete family is when we don’t compete amongst each other but have a mutual relationship that flourishes each member with time. Healthy family for me is having healthy boundaries of privacy, emotional wellbeing, sentimental support system, exercise as a non-negotiable habit and good sustainable food habits and values. Happiness is an art and it is painted in the life of people who value relationships and people around them. Gratefulness and gratitude for the people who give meaning and beautiful future to our life is the true essence and reason of happiness for a family. I believe in celebrating each moment with happiness, peace and love.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
Favourite idea of holidaying for me, is going anywhere with like-minded people I want to spend quality time with. Silent retreats and peaceful modest settings are where I find solace for my mind and spirit.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
Maya Angelo said “Each time a woman stands for herself she stands for all women.” I stand by the quote and by participating in this Beauty Pageant, I want to encourage myself and other women to know that we all have the power to shape and rewrite our destinies at any point of time. A dignified platform like “Mrs. India Queen of Substance” is the best place to showcase my abilities and learnings and pass it on to other women and young girls at a large scale. I really want to work in the field of education, grooming, health & fitness especially for the underprivileged girls and women. Also with time, age and increasing responsibilities we tend to become narrow and myopic in our views and our growth and dreams starts to stagnate. Thus, participating in such an acclaimed platform with so many participants from all over the country and abroad is sure to bring fresh perspectives, learnings and a contrast for real reflection of self-image.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
India is rising in terms of infrastructure development and global presence; there is no doubt about it. But what bothers me most is the ever-increasing income and gender disparity in our country. Because of this quality education, employment, women safety and healthcare is in serious jeopardy. Even at the verge of becoming one of the most growth-oriented country, this kind of gaps only show our loose policy applications and formation. Ever increasing pollution and deterioration of air and water quality is a major health threat. These interconnected issues limit development and affect quality of life and opportunities for growth. Also, online bullying and unrealistic beauty standards scare me. Too much mis-information is causing media distrust and confusion, especially in the mind of youngsters. This matter is creating unseen psychological issue in the youth that can disrupt future of the country.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” “Books are the liberated spirit of men and women. Read them to know yourself.” “The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves! A person can never be comfortable without his/her self- approval.” “Not talent, not luck, but resilient and focused dedication to one task brings excellence.” “If you can choose anything, choose kindness. The world is too fragile to hold anger, resentment and arrogance.”
- What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
True sportsmanship for me is the “never giving up attitude” in a person. When a person takes up all the challenges and rewards with utmost discipline, grace, dignity and responsibility with a positive demeanour, is the true character of a sportsman. True sportsmanship balances on the arch of ethics and fairness. It to never loose control and focus and yet be helpful and enthusiastic for all.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
A woman shapes the destiny of a civilization. We are the generation of women standing at the gate of forthcoming Artificially Intelligent generation. Thus, if selected as a charity ambassador, my focus will be helping others become more and more efficient though knowledge gathering, sharing and exploring who they really are inside-out creating a focused goal and purpose in life and then walking on that path relentlessly breaking all stigmas and taboos. True empowerment for me is to make such a strong foundation for oneself and others that we don’t pass any generation stigma and trauma to the next generation. I plan to work closely with organisations to educate and empower children and woman ensuring that they have access to quality education and the freedom to build their own identities. I want to work for underprivileged pregnant women who are denied even the basic health care and mental well-being, which is often ignored in our society. For me, being a Queen of substance means using my platform, my voice, and my experiences to create a positive difference in society, and to make every woman feel like a Queen in her own life.
