Sneha Sengupta

  • Kolkata
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • Hi, I am Sneha Sengupta. I am a 37-year-old free spirited person full of enthusiasm and positive energy. For me, peace is the mantra. I believe in individuality and optimistic growth in an individual, as individuals form a community or society. I look at life in a positive way, where I see the glass is always half full rather than half empty. I am a loving daughter, wife, and mother, and I have played every role with utmost pride. Then comes my professional identity. I am a journalist and a writer currently focusing on a book. Art and culture have always intrigued me. In one hand I am rocking the cradle, and with the other I am rocking the world. Life has always given me dual-path challenges, and I have successfully handled two aspirations at a time.

  • Your Achievements that make you feel high.
  • My first big achievement is when I became a mother of a girl child. Second, I made a dream come true when I covered the most prestigious Cannes International Film Festival in 2025. I have also interviewed space astronaut Sunita Williams amongst hundreds of journalists, when I was told I won't be able to make it. I live for these days, these moments. I want to narrate these stories to my grandchildren. That would be my achievement when my grandchildren will look at me with sparks in their eyes, that as their grandmother could achieve so much. Every day I make a promise that I will be a better version of myself. I always set goals to achieve. I aspire to achieve more, and that is the reason I am here in Mrs. India Queen of Substance.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • For me, beauty is within us. You can be the world's most beautiful woman, but if you have an ugly heart, no one will notice. So, for me beauty is eternal, beauty is inside, it is in the SOUL.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • For me a complete, healthy and happy family is understanding, having mutual respect for each other, and sharing nitty gritty with each other. All these aspects make a family complete. Along with respect comes love, values, and support. I try to make everyone smile in my family. For me, family has always been my biggest strength.

  • What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Holidaying for me is exploring new places, while at the same time striking a balance where I can spend quality time with my daughter, my family, and relax. I love to explore new places, new cultures, languages, festivals, and heritage, because I feel when you travel you grow as a person and meet different people from different countries. I love both mountains and oceans, as mountains teach me to be calm. I love oceans because of the waves. Every wave whispers that there is always a new day. Every wave shows a path for hope and new challenges.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
  • Mrs. India Queen of Substance, as the name suggests, is not only about good-looking women, but also their intellect, education, talent, strong personality, kindness, and compassion. By participating in this pageant, I want to set an example for other wonderful women around that it is never too late to dream big, as this platform gives so much scope for upgrading, to find a better version of a woman's persona.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • When I see people with educational qualifications, zeal, talent, and capabilities not getting jobs, it pains me. It breaks my heart when I see women and children are not safe even in their home and workplace. It makes me numb when I see most men are misunderstood when it comes to taking responsibilities. Men like my father and husband have always remained silent and performed their duties with smiling faces and utmost care, and I am proud of them.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • True “sportsmanship” is all about spirit. It is all about holding on to the nerve and proceeding. It is about mutual respect for the opponents. I would like to cite the example of Jemimah Rodrigues, who emerged as a rising star during the Women's Cricket World Cup in 2025. The 25-year-old's calmness in the cricket ground, focus on the game, ever-smiling face and energy won my heart like millions.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • If I am selected as a charity ambassador, firstly, I would like to spread awareness about the pressure that comes on men, that they are forced to work and earn for the family, leaving their aspirations behind. It is not only a man's sole responsibility to run a family. If I talk about equality, women are capable of taking responsibilities, and that is what I call woman empowerment. Secondly, I would like to spread awareness about male child abuse, as I have witnessed that a lot of men are forced to remain silent with their trauma and sorrow. These suppressed sorrows slowly kill their emotion and compassionate heart. They are often said, 'Do not cry like a girl.' They are forced to have this belief that crying is weak and women are a weaker species. As a charity ambassador, I would like to listen to the little abused males and create an awareness. I would also like to be the charity ambassador for abducted and abused women and people who are suffering from mental health issues.
