Priyanka Jain
- A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
I’m Priyanka Jain from Dilwalo ki city New Delhi. I am a Computer Science graduate from BITS Pilani and have completed my MBA from one of the top Business Schools in the world- IESE Business School, Spain. Currently I head marketing for cardiology at Philips Indian Subcontinent. Having lived in 4 countries and traveled to 20+, I am an avid globetrotter and love to explore new places, people, food, and activities. I believe in living life to the fullest and gaining breadth of experiences throughout life. I am a certified yoga instructor as well and love to workout, swim and play sports. I have a passion for adventure sports and have enjoyed skydiving and scuba diving amongst many others. I am a go getter and do not stop at anything. I ensure I accomplish whatever I set my eyes on and my ‘never say never’ attitude brings me many laurels in life. My friends would describe me as the funny bone of the circle.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
I am an MBA from a top Business School in the world which is a significant achievement as the success rate to get into these schools is miniscule. I feel extremely proud of experiencing this despite being one of the youngest candidates in my school. Post my MBA, I had a 1000% increase in my salary and got the exact industry and the function that I always desired. Recently, I also won the ‘Marketeer of the year’ award at Philips Indian Subcontinent which again is a huge accomplishment. Amidst a highly successful career, I also feel proud that I bring up my daughter so well giving her all the time, attention, and love that a child needs.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
According to me, true beauty is beauty which is inside out. I take the liberty to say that outside beauty is as important because if a woman is the best version of herself, only then can she be disciplined to look after others. A woman plays many roles in her life and her role to herself is equally important. I believe a woman can take care of others only when she can take care of herself. It is not necessary that she should be the prettiest face, but she should be the best version of her own self. Likewise, inner beauty is extremely critical, and a woman is truly beautiful ONLY when she is compassionate, caring and a nice human being who touches lives, spreads joy, and makes the world a beautiful place.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
A complete, healthy, and happy family is one that celebrates love, life and togetherness. It is the one that is grateful for being together and values being with each other every single day. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the traditional 2 parents and 2 kids family, it could be a single mother with 1 child, a single dad with 2 children or 1 parent with kid and grandparents- any permutation and combination is possible to make a healthy and happy family as long as there is immense love and support for each other, and the children especially are given the love and attention they need to become good citizens of the world.
- What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
Since I have a 3-year-old toddler, my favorite idea of a family vacation is going to a beautiful resort and swimming and laying on the beach all day long. I want to be sipping some juices, reading a nice book, and listening to the sound of the waves while my daughter plays with her beach toys. If I’m traveling solo, I would like to explore some new places, meet new people in Europe and enjoy the culture and art that the place has to offer. I would also like to go for mountain hiking sometime soon.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
When I was a little kid, I attended multiple fashion shows and used to ramp walk at home and outside all the time. While studying in college, I led fashion shows, recruited models, and participated in these as well endorsing few fashion brands. Fashion to me is empowering and being in front of the camera gives me immense pleasure. I grew up to be a topper in academics and took the path of the corporate world. Being a highly successful entrepreneur and a businesswoman, I want to show the world that it is equally exhilarating to follow your passion and dreams at any age in your life. I want to inspire many others in the corporate world who also have all the qualities in them to become the next MIQS.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
India is a beautiful country with such vast diversity and culture associated with it for the last numerous years. We are the largest democracy in the world with huge manpower, but we also have many real issues such as lack of good education, healthcare facilities, basic sanitation, pollution, poverty, and women safety. Despite having so many real issues to solve for, what bothers me is when our leaders at times forget what’s important and focus on solving issues that would not develop the nation but only get them votes. It is worrisome to see how political parties divide people based on religion, caste, and region in order to win elections.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
“Humans need to be a multi-planet species” by Elon Musk. If someone can dream of and work towards achieving human civilization in more than 1 planet, we can surely work towards making all our dreams a reality. All we need is passion, belief, perseverance, and hard work to get whatever we desire and to make the earth (and the other planets ) better place to live in.
- What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
True Sportsmanship for me is team spirit- putting the entire team above me. A good sportsman is someone who believes that ‘Best Team Wins’- together one can achieve everything and alone nothing. A sportsman can be anyone with a positive attitude, a person with a winning streak who can get up after falling multiple times. A sportsman is someone who would not stop at anything until he wins and even then, he would go on and look for another victory.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
I believe that education is not given the importance that it deserves. I would like to educate kids, especially girls on good health, physical and mental wellbeing, menstrual hygiene, and the need to follow their passion and dreams.
