Finalist Detail 2019

Mrs. S Batra

  • Pune
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • My name is Shweta Batra, an optimistic and a fun-loving person – “life is short so, why not smile while you still have teeth”. I am Punjabi by birth, raised in Uttar Pradesh, married to an Oriya and settled in Pune, Maharashtra. A Lead Business Analyst by profession and I have worked across different parts of the globe.I am my own competition and work hard to be a better version of myself each day. Breaking my own limits helps me achieve the difficult. As Michael Jordan has rightly said “limits, like fear, are often just illusions “. I also believe that I have harnessed a lot from the society to become who I am today and its my responsibility to give it back with all my capacity to make this world a better place to live.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • Life is full of surprises and not all of them are pleasant. I realised that at an early age of 15, when my father was diagnosed with a life-threateningillness. Ever since, I have deeply appreciated the fact that life is short and I need to turnall the new opportunities into adventures. In my journey so far, I have had many tangible achievements – from becoming the “Idol” of my college to winning the “Best Business Analyst” title in my organization recently. However, I consider the experience and joy in every step of my journey as an achievement because “it's always the journey that teaches new lessons on the destination”.To find happiness in the smallest things in life and to stay positive during the biggest hurdles keeps me high. It gives me immense pride to be selected as one of the top finalists for Mrs India Queen of Substance. I have come a long way but still a long way to go.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Life is true beauty to me; its beauty lies in its “vast unknown”. So deep is the beauty of the unknown that no one knows what life has to offer tomorrow but yet it keeps the hope alive that tomorrow will be a better day than today. Moments once passed in life can’t be re-lived, they become the memories of the past and experience for the future, such is its richness – truly beautiful!

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • A family where there is respect for each other, a family where members engage in meaningful dialogues even at the most difficult times, a family where each one can be his/her true self with dignity, a family where everyone is each other’s weakness but at the same time each other’s biggest strength is a complete, happy and healthy family.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Travel to new places with my partner, meet new people, experience the local culture and the burst of local flavours is the perfect idea of holidaying for me. I love to experience different cuisines on holidays. I believe food is a vehicle through which we express our creativity and create memories for life time. Food brings history on the table. Going to my home town, re-living the memories of my childhood and spending time with my beloved siblings is also one of my favourite idea of holidaying. I have travelled across different countries and the one thing that I have certainly learnt is, “the best stories are the ones that you live”.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • I feel proud to be an Indian. India is the land of colours, culture, cuisine and great people. We are known to be culturally rich across the globe, inheriting traditions that are thousands of years old. A land where goddesses are worshipped but still the safety of women is a big concern is truly an irony. An insecurity for their safety has made a permanent dent in the minds of Indian women. Though women have been very successful in various fields but the fact that they still remain unsafe not only on the darker streets, but also in the day light of their homes cannot be ignored. As a country, we all need to join hands to eradicate such a pressing problem from our society.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just illusion!

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • For me, true “sportsmanship” is to be humble when you win but to be graceful when you lose.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • If I am selected as a charity ambassador, I would like to work towards theeducation ofthe underprivileged children, a cause that is very close to my heart. I have been fortunate enough to work with many high-profile Tech companies in my career, getting the opportunity to work and build relationships with very intelligent and passionate people. I will reach out to my network, seeking help to make my voice stronger.Tie ups with such big brands will not only help in gaining financial support but will also help to make this campaign bigger, spreading awareness amongst hundreds of young minds who work in these organizations through various CSR (corporate social responsibilities) activities. I will also tap on to the power of digital platform to spread the word about the campaigns.
