Finalist Detail 2017

Rashmi Uppal

  • New Delhi
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • My name is Rashmi Uppal. I am a regular homemaker but I love children and hence invest my spare time being a creative Instructor for Kids. I run these classes at home and when I am not busy with them, I love meeting new people and being social. I love my family and friends and can go to any lengths for them. I believe in the power of love and spreading positivity around.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • I have achieved many things so far in life and can best describe myself as a born leader. I started out by working as a Child Artist for All India Radio in Shillong. As I grew up, I then worked as an Anchor for many events and still continue to do so in my social circles. I have also participated in Beauty Pageants earlier and won the titles of Miss Fresher in College and the Miss North East as Second runner-up. I was the School Captain & was also awarded the Best All Rounder. In academics I topped my board exams in the 12th Standard. In Extra Curricular Activities, I have won the 2 nd Prize in a prestigious National Dance Competition held at Varanasi where I had the honor to represent my School. I am a trained Indian Classical Singer too. I have a lot of ambition and I still want to achieve more out of life. While many may say that life changes after marriage but it is not true for me. I am still the same hardworking lady with many more roles now. As a mother, a wife, a teacher, a homemaker and a conscious citizen with social responsibilities on my shoulders. For me, everyday is a new challenge and I wake up each day accepting it with a smile.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Its inner beauty that comes from within. If the soul of a person is beautiful and clean, it is reflected on a person's outer persona.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • For me, love is the key ingredient in what constitutes a happy family. Money and Fame can be bought but love is a precious gift within us and it is an everlasting bond beyond our comprehension. If there is love, fame and money will follow but without a loving family, this is useless.

  • What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
  • It is holidaying with my family and my loved ones especially my darling daughter at a clear and pristine beach-side resort. She loves to play in the water and the delight on her face is something which completes my idea of a fulfilling holiday.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
  • I see that the values I cherish as a modern day Indian housewife are not openly believed in by women nowadays and I think that this would be a very good platform to communicate with all those ladies out there to come out and be their true selves because being your own self is what constitutes a true lady.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • I believe that a lot of people in India are losing faith in the system although they claim to have it on platforms such as social media. What these people have instead done is that they are trying to take matters in their own hands which is in-fact deteriorating the system even more. This is creating a harmful legacy which we are sadly bequeathing to our future generations. For example, w.r.t demonetization, people could have used social media to create awareness of cash availability in ATMs, shops etc but they however used it to vent out their emotions against demonetization which created more hysteria and confusion in the country.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • Never say Never because 'Picture abhi baaki hey mere dost'. The movie is not yet over.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Not losing any match till the last second. The same goes for my life goals as well. Unless you give up, no one can make you give anything up. It's all in the mind.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • I would like to go ahead and make people feel loved and wanted because in our current society and day to day life, we tend to forget the power of love and affection. Things for which brute force are being used nowadays can simply be solved by a mere show of love. How would I do this? Well, I understand that this is not an easy task. But the question is why is not? Why is it so difficult to love and make your fellow human beings wanted? And that's where I will start from. I will try to go to specific sections of society and find out what ails them and then try to fix it with the help of the resources I will have as a charity ambassador. Once that is done, I will ask them to pass it on. It may seem like a insignificant effort but it's worth it.
