- A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
My personality has been enriched with international exposure and evolved over the years.I am a modern woman and yet rooted in traditional Indian values and beliefs. For me building friendships is easy as I approach relationships with honesty and firmly believe that with LOVE and RESPECT you can win everyone’s heart. I am sensitive and emotional but that doesn't make me weak. I am a natural leader and helpful to others. Striving to deliver on any task that I am involved with full commitment and perfection,my family and friends know meas a perfectionist. I believe in God and it’s from the almighty "within myself that I find all the strength that I ever need". My strength makes me a truly beautiful woman.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
Blessed with encouragement of loving and supportive parents,my student days were fun filled and yet competitive. I was an active participant in competitions, won prizes as badminton champion and in drawing and painting. I did graduation and three year diploma in commercial art to become a commercial designer and worked with advertising agencies. When I designed my first advertisement and it was published I was on cloud nine. Nowafter marriage, I believe my greatest achievement is my family. Doing my best to raise my daughter as a good person, I have fulfilled the most important duty as a mother. When others appreciate, that my daughter has good values I feel proud of her. My hubby when he fully trusts me and says, “You can’t go wrongâ€, his love and trust is my greatest achievement.
- Define the true beauty.
True Beauty is not just having a beautiful face as that is either a God’s gift or one from our parents. For me it’s having a beautiful HEART full of love, kindness, respect and compassion towards others. True beauty is having a persona without pretense, having inner confidence to be true and honest to yourself, being inspirational and supportive to others and most importantly to live a life high on values and joyful abundance. I thus believe the most important accessory for a woman to be truly beautiful is a beautiful SMILE on her face & her inner CONFIDENCE not makeup.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
For me it’s important that there should be a strong bond of love and mutual respect for feelings of each other in the family, where family members find time and make effort to communicate with each other, share joys and sorrows of life together, navigate the rapids of ups and down in life as one team to remain complete and happy. For me a family where members have time to eat together shall always stay together as a complete healthy and happy family.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
My favorite idea of Holidaying is, when my husband and daughter are accompanying me and we are traveling together to meet my mother and extended family in India. I miss them a lot as being overseas, I am not able to spend enough time, as much as I would like, with all of them. Nothing is more delightful for me than to be with family in India, my roots and who love me unconditionally. Reliving old memories over a cup of tea or coffee, involving them by playing indoor games or doing outdoor activities, meeting old friends and enjoying my favorite Indian delicacies makes a perfect holiday for me. (The“Ideal†holidayingis of course without mobile phones and laptop!!!! and you would know why????)
- Why are you participating in Mrs India Queen of substance?
The theme of the pageant fits in with my interest in the area of Women’s Empowerment. Through MIQS, I would like to promote awareness about this key topic within society and transform myself from being just any woman, to one of substance. But in order to be able to do that, one would need a platform or a certain level in life. I feel that the pageant of Mrs. India Queen of Substance is the beautiful platform that can support me to reach my goal in a stylish way and transform me from “being a face in the crowd to the one crowd facesâ€!!! By participating in the event I am glad to be a small part of it and take the opportunity to seek what is the better in me and showcase it in front of the audience.
- What bothers you about what is happening in our country today?
What bothers me is that living in India as a woman is not easy with security for women a national issue. Lack of education and exploitation of girl child as labor is still a burning problem compounded by early marriage. Those of us who become lucky to have a good education and opportunity to work face gender inequality in workplace and sexual harassment with scant respect for women empowerment.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, ’I’m possible!â€- Audrey Hepburn “There are four very important words in life. LOVE, HONESTY, TRUTH and RESPECT. Without these in life you have nothingâ€
- What is true sportsmanship for you?
For me true sportsmanship is to have courage toparticipate in any event with full enthusiasm giving more than your 100% and leave winning or losing as part of the game. If you win then you win but if you lose you still win as you learn about your weaknesses and improve upon them and try again. One day you will then win!!!
- If you were selected as the charity ambassador, what value addition would you like to make for our society and how?
If I am made a charity ambassador I wouldleverage MIQS platform to campaign the cause of women empowerment andGlobal Warming. I would approach selected NGO and organizations like Rotary Club to offer my time and services on projects that are around girl education and women literacy. I would also set up workshops on global warming in schools, with our children, to educate as well as involve them on sharing knowledge on it with their families. Leveraging digital media would help to connect and build a mass movement of socially conscious young people all doing small things to save environment for a larger cause.
