Dr. Liss Joseph

  • Bangalore
  • A BRIEF INTRO ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY AND PERSONA .
  • Self-Introduction “Hope gives us strength and courage helps us to move forward; together they create an unstoppable force. My name is Dr Liss Joseph, a dental surgeon by profession from the garden city of Bangalore. I was born and raised in Trichur Kerala, 47 years ago, the middle of three children. Apart from studies, during my formative years in convent school, I was keenly involved in dance, sports, and painting. I completed my Bachelors of Dentistry (BDS) from Mangalore University with 1st Class Honors. In 1999, I moved to Bangalore after marriage to my husband, a physician and am blessed with 2 children. Currently, I’m the founder. director and senior consultant dental surgeon of 2 dental centers in Bangalore with over 25 years of clinical experience. With a kind heart that radiates warmth and a sharp mind that stays grounded, I’m still learning the lessons from life’s experiences. With humility I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to causes I believe throughout my life, to be a part of something bigger than myself.

  • YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL HIGH .
  • I always believe that I have to stand alone without depending on others and yet if anyone needs my help for anything, I’m there for them. Over the last 2 decades I have founded 2 specialist dental centers operating successfully, responsible for training over 25 junior doctors, imparting academic training and creating future dental professional leaders. During this time, my interaction with others lives exposed me to their personal problems. I freely offer them advice and counselling to strengthen themselves mentally. The trust that people have in me is what I cherish the most. As a medical professional with a loving heart, empathy and altruism are at the forefront of my practice, where we arrange operations and procedures for the underprivileged in our community. NO one should be denied treatment for the lack of money. During the completion of my BDS studies of 4.5 years, it was suddenly found out that 20 students had been admitted in excess during admission, one of them being me. The university had not sanctioned the extra intake though the college admitted us. Knowing that 20 dental students’ careers were in jeopardy I alone took the initiative to approach the Indian minister of health to initiate regularization of our seats. I’m happy to say that due to my efforts all 20 seats were duly recognized.

  • DEFINE TRUE BEAUTY.
  • Outer beauty is just the physical appearance and attributes which fades after years, but inner beauty lies with in you. I make sure that I tend to this garden because it lasts forever. To me beauty is sacrificing for others without expecting anything back. Despite turmoil in our lives, you have to keep a smile on your face to give confidence to others. Being true to oneself with self-belief, humility and a positive outlook towards others with empathy and charity, that to me is internal beauty. If everyone believes that they can trust you, beauty lies in that too. Inner beauty is courage, intelligence, character, and the determination to do something worthwhile at an age when everyone gives up. Each failure, each insult, what you face in your life. let it be a lesson to move forward to the next step.

  • WHAT MAKES A COMPLETE HEALTHY AND HAPPY FAMILY.
  • A happy family to me is like a well-constructed building, both of which require a strong foundation. While the civil engineer uses concrete, a mixture of cement, sand and gravel, without which buildings would fall, I believe women are the engineers and architects creating and providing this concrete mixture to strengthen and support family bonds. This mixture ,crafted by the mother, I feel it should consist of love, morality, caring, patience, empathy, sacrifice, support, acceptance, forgiveness and flexibility. Everyone in the family is different; hence we need to be resilient in bringing everyone together in all the circumstances. If one tries to understand others viewpoints, I believe we will be able to engage in positive experiences which reinforces family ties

  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE IDEA OF HOLIDAYING .
  • I’ve never been too particular about the destination, it’s more about the journey; the time, and happiness we spend together. A perfect vacation is one spent with friends and family, because they are the souls who make life worthwhile as we relax, reconnect and make memories that will last a life time. I believe our experiences, while on holidays, should combine a sense of adventure, relaxation, discovery and immense peace of mind, all leading to the creation of wonderful memories.

  • WHY YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN MRS INDIA QUEEN OF THE SUBSTANCE .
  • I believe Mrs. India Queen of Substance give us queens a broad-based platform and opportunity to showcase the multifaceted aspects of a true women. For me personally it’s a wonderful chance for myself to grow in self-confidence, gain personal development, expand networking opportunities, and highlight charitable causes regarding women’s issue in a more organized professional and structured manner. Age is not a matter for beauty; at any age we can do anything what we really want to. I have always been passionate about beauty, fashion and self-expression in spite of being a technical professional with a busy schedule. I also have a strong desire to make a positive impact in my community and use this given platform to raise awareness of more important causes regarding women’s issues.

  • WHAT BOTHERS YOU MOST ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE COUNTRY TODAY .
  • The biggest issue which the media doesn’t highlight is the lack of justice for women. Women are disadvantaged by laws that perpetuate gender inequality and fail to protect women’s rights. Furthermore, even when women seek legal recourse the outcome is bleak. Also, it’s disheartening to see a judiciary at all levels predominant with men who lack gender sensitivity and come from a society with patriarchal mindset. Even the financial costs of trials and limited social awareness of rights that women have serve as impediments in empowering women today.

  • THE QUOTE OR SAYING THAT ENCOURAGES YOU .
  • ‘Winners Don’t Do Different Things, They Do Things Differently’ excerpt from You Can Win by Shiva Kera. This quote helps me to build confidence by mastering steps in positive thinking and being successful by turning weakness into strength. You can gain credibility by doing the right thigs for the right reason. Take charge of controlling things instead of things controlling you. I believe instead of blaming others for adverse situations, we should own up to our decisions and their consequences. This book, is very inspirational and motivating and should be made mandatory reading to all, to know their weakness and strengths and make them to see need of change within.

  • WHAT IS SPORTSMANSHIP TO YOU.
  • In this competitive world, whether it be sport or life in general, not all performances will result in the outcome that we desire. Disappointments may be many but you need to be gracious in defeat. and humble in victory. Most of all for me it’s the experience and knowledge gained in the journey. Faced with so many challenges in one’s life, its sometime difficult to get a grasp on things. To play any game ethically to the extent where your competitors look at you with awe. Not because you win or lose but because of your character. I like to try, and I like to try again.

  • IF YOU WERE SELECTED AS A CHARITY AMMBASSADOR WHAT VALUE ADDITTION WOULD YOU LIKE TO OUR SOCIETY AND HOW.
  • As part of my faith and upbringing, charity I believe is the highest form of love, reflecting God’s love for humanity. This position further allows me to advocate , fundraise , network and serve as inspiration to promote and focus on charitable causes. Among the initiatives close to me include 1) the establishment of home for destitute elderly women, 2) providing free and subsidized operations and procedures, and 3) would reach out to our schools to create charity programs that students would initiate, adopt, and have direct reach to those in need. In a world of self-centered interests, children must learn that kindness, understanding and empathy can be taught to them and that charity is more than just giving things.
