Rohini Naik

  • Bangalore
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I’m a happy-go-lucky girl, who has always thrived to break rules which hindered my passion, A go-getter, who believes in dreams and pursuing those dreams. I enjoy singing, dancing, reading fictional novels esp., Mills & Boons -or anything that makes me happy. BY profession I’m a post-graduate in commerce, started as lecturer, currently an IT risk and audit professional with 20yrs of total work experience.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • Sense of helping someone, making them happy. Love to see people being happy, and smiling- I find smiling faces very intriguing

  • Define the true beauty.
  • To be able to make another person happy – Beauty is not merely pleasing to the eyes but should be pleasing to the heart; when someone looks at you, they should feel the warmth washing over their soul and that can happen only when we make someone feel nice about themselves.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • Family for me is like a cushion where the members can fall back on, it is a place where one feels /one should feel secured and loved, support one another in times of need.

  • What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Lazing on the serene (remote) beaches of South Goa, sipping wine, reading a favourite book to rejuvenate to return to civilisation

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
  • I have 3 reasons to participate, first – just for myself to honour myself, to celebrate myself and to use this platform for the support of those women lesser privileged than us in the society and third I believe that there is a reason for us to band ourselves for a cause that can uplift the women and children in the society.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • Of the many things that bother me, the fact that women don't support their own kind bothers me the most and we get to see these in our own homes. Mothers not treating their daughters-in-law the same way they expect their daughter to be treated. Even at workplace there is a need to support one another, however the degree at which it should be done is yet to be reached. While every year the female students top the result chart in every field, these are not getting converted into actual working population, percentage of women in workplace is a decreasing figure due to reasons such as marriage, starting a family, children's education. etc.,

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • Dare to dream for destiny is not predetermined

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • The camaraderie and ability to support one another through the journey/competition and yet being able to celebrate the winner is the true spirit of sportsmanship.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • With my communication skills I would be able to create awareness of the program that I’m supporting, be able to work with the potential sponsors of the cause and also be able to work on the field. I would be more interested in juvenile education program, and adult financial literacy program to assist particularly women to manage their finances.
