Jyoti Pednekar

  • Mumbai
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • Hi, I am Jyoti from Mumbai, an avid lover of dance. I have completed Visharad in Bharatnatyam. I have also completed my masters in management. I would describe myself as a humble, down to earth and fun loving person, who believes that a woman should be independent. She should be able to stand up for herself in life, should have belief in her own self and her dreams and should strive to pursue and fulfill them.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • There are a number of small achievements in my life which have made me feel proud. Having completed my masters in management studies was a high moment for me. Giving the news of my promotion to a managerial level in my organization to my parents and seeing the gleam of happiness and pride in their eyes was another proud moment for me. Last but not the least the day I became a mother. The fact that you have created and would be nurturing a new generation itself is an achievement for me.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Beautiful is the person who loves another person selflessly even though he may or may not receive love from the other person.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • No matter how big or small a family is, it has to be bound by love. And this bonding amongst family members can be only created by a woman. She is the backbone of her family and it is the values which are driven by her which will reflect in each of her family members. So no matter what, she should be able to let go off her ego, learn to be patient and to be able to communicate and form close bonds with each and every member of her family in order to keep this love alive.

  • What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
  • My favourite idea of holidaying is to be able to spend all my time with my child, caring, nurturing, loving him and watching him grow without having to worry about anything else in life.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
  • Participating in a beauty pageant has been my dream. I could not qualify for the Miss India contest for some reason but Mrs. India has given me a platform to fulfill this dream. Each of us desires to do something, in a small way, for the betterment of the society but it may or may not be possible for us in our day to day life. Mrs. India is a platform which can help me achieve this dream.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • Being a mother, sexual molestation and abuse of a child bothers me the most. My heart wrenches in pain whenever I read or hear of such incidents. I think we should all work towards educating people and in bringing about a radical change in people’s thoughts and attitude in order to eradicate this blot from mankind.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • ‘Live and let live’. Each one of us comes from different backgrounds, different cultures, we have our own mindsets, thoughts and ideas. You may not know what the other person has gone through or is going through in his or her life. So stop being judgmental about others, learn to accept the other person, the way he or she is. We should live the life we love and let others live life they wish to.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Recently I came across a video, where children were competing in a running race. As the race started, one of the child collapsed and was unable to get up as he had sprained his leg. Seeing this the others who were ahead of him in the race, nearing the finishing line, stopped, turned around and came back to pick up their friend and continued the race till the finishing line carrying their injured friend along. So to be able to give up on your winning moments at times in life to bring that smile on someone’s face is the mark of true ‘Sportsmanship’.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • If I were selected as a Charity Ambassador, I would like to work for the betterment of child and women education. In order to build a generation that is educated and is emotionally sound, we need to inculcate good values right at the budding stage. At the same time every women needs to be independent. And what better way but education to do that.
