Mrs. Y. Romita
- A brief about yourself and how you describe your own personality and persona.
Bold, fierce with a brave heart is always up for a new challenge, and that’s “Meâ€. A person who likes to experience everything possible in life. A creative individual and fun loving, passionate, compassionate and full of life. It is very important to me to maintain a healthy mind, body and soul. A proud mother of twin boys who is celebrating “the power within meâ€. Being a twin mother is a true test of womanhood and the ability to make the impossible, magically possible. I am happily married to an Army Officer who is the pillar of strength, living the life of my dreams full of beauty, charm and adventure. I grew up in a little town of Imphal surrounded by love and strength given to me by my family. Apart from my generousness, wisdom and physical appearance, I have the urge of philanthropy. I believe in speaking from my mind and helping people in need. I have a healthy love for myself, always follow my heart and do the things that makes me happy and embrace possibility. I believe there is no dream that is too big for those who feel too small. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Keep your dreams alive !!
- Your achievement that makes you feel high.
In my career there are many things I’ve won and achieved but for me, my greatest achievement is my twin sons. What gives me high is the fact that becoming the best “Me†for my children. Growing, birthing and raising twins are the most selfless, challenging and rewarding part of my life. Motherhood is knowing joy, even experiencing the hardest trials of life. I have learned to rise to any occasion and found myself lifted to new heights while stretching myself beyond any and all limits I once put upon myself. It also gives me an excuse to stay young forever, kicking off my shoes and letting down my hair while enjoying love beyond measure. The most magical day of my life was the day I became the mother to my twin sons. I survived from a life threatening emergency from my first pregnancy and since then I’ve been celebrating my second rebirth. I am grateful that I am alive and am grateful for every minute I live. I’ve decided that I won’t just survive but you will see me thrive. As Katy Perry sings….â€I will rise….victory is in my veinsâ€. Winning many titles in the Mini Pageants at the military stations was also a proud moment. Life is a journey and if you fall in love with the journey you will be in love forever. I also feel high being able to get an opportunity to spread awareness programs and contribute to the troops families in my husband’s unit on various women and health topics through education since two years.
- Define the true beauty.
True beauty is reflected in one’s soul - being truthful, honest, helpful, and trustworthy. True beauty lies in the heart, the clarity and purity of thoughts. Good deeds, a kind soul who can feel about others and broad outlook towards life is truly beautiful.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
A complete, healthy and happy family is that where the people are able to trust and rely on each other for support, love, affection and warmth. Each person in the family is valued and respected. Everyone must contribute the happiness of the family. Without laughter, joy or companionship a house is but an empty shell.
- What is your favorite idea of Holidaying?
Vacation is one word that instantly brings a smile on my face. Holidays give me the chance to break from my routine and engage in whatever it is that makes me happy. It brings more closer to my loved ones, enjoying special moments together and sharing new experiences with one another. Andaman & Nicober Islands, this place took my heart away. Me being a nature lover and someone who enjoys being in and around water that place ruled my heart. A stay at the sea is relaxing- Sun, sand, serenity. Water calms me, connects me to the world, and give me clarity. I love to sit by the pool and get lost in a good book, or indulge in some spa treatments. I love winter snows and vacations are the best part of this season. The Christmas and New Year gush and the vacations that simply offer an awesome feeling. Decorating my house and the Christmas tree with my DIY projects is what I enjoy. Then there is bonfire!
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
Mrs India Queen of Substance carries a significant prestige and more importantly the power to make a positive difference and leave behind positive change. I would love to win this title and be a source of inspiration to millions of people to achieve their dreams. The journey will help me inspire women and to empower, educate and uplift, and work for the betterment of children.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
Besides, poverty, child labour, corruption, global warming, terrorism, women’s safety issues and so on. Social exclusion of women is the most bothered situation according to me. Women are socially excluded in India, with gender discrimination being one of India’s main development challenges. Women and girls find themselves excluded from many aspects of day-to-day life. India is traditionally a patriarchal society where men are seen to be the heads of households and women are expected to stay at home, excluding from many spheres of life. Culturally there is a preference towards ‘sons’. As a result daughters are traditionally perceived to be less desirable especially in poorer communities and female foeticide is still in practice. I find abduction of children, prostitution, rape and forced slavery very distressing. The last few decades have seen remarkable progress in status of women yet the cultural roots of gender inequality are still strong. But now with the introduction and advancement of educational changing mindset of younger generation, have compelled the society to change and think differently. Education plays a greater role in creating the self-confidence and making the individual independent. There are lot of efforts on the part of every group of the society to eradicate it with active mentorship, training and support barrier.
- The quote or saying that encourages you?
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there†- Theodore Roosevelt. I’ve always loved this quote. Believe in ourselves, if you believe you’re halfway there and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work harder, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish.
- What is true “Sportsmanship†for you?
o be being humble in victory and be optimistic in defeat is true Sportsmanship. Everybody wants to win, and it’s going to be tough in loosing but it does not matter how many times you get knocked down, what matters is that you play fair with the right spirit and values. By losing a battle you find a new way to win the war.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
As a Charity Ambassador, I would devote my time and energy to the cause that is very close to my heart. I would project a positive and healthy dedication towards the upliftment of underprivileged children and education. I believe that every child deserves the best and children are little angels who are our future. They deserve all the love and happiness in the world. I would love to spread happiness and love, make a place in people’s heart that will live on forever.
