- A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
I’m a doctor and an entrepreneur by profession, a dancer, painter and cook by passion, and a mother at heart. My goal in life is to spread love to youngers and elders, irrespective of economic strata, and to improve the lives of those around me through actions both small and big. My life’s motto is to always keep fighting with dignity and respect, no matter how hard the battle may be.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
I challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone and working harder every day to shatter the figurative glass ceiling. Whether it be working to provide constant care and support to the less economically stable families of my city through my work as a doctor, or using my platform as a pageant performer to spread more awareness, I’m happiest when I’m able to help others through my actions.
- Define true beauty.
To me, a woman is beautiful when she’s young, full of vigour and passion and eagerness to change the world. She’s gorgeous when she’s slightly more mature, with a stable job and a family she loves unconditionally. And she’s breathtaking when she’s much older and full of wrinkles but still with that unfailing optimism towards her dreams. Throughout their lives, what makes women beautiful to me is their capacity for improvement, for love and the goodness of their hearts.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
The first thing to realize about a happy family is that they don’t always need to be happy. A family is a collection of people, after all, and people must be allowed to have disagreements and differences. A happy family is simply one which supports each other and is honest with one another. In such an environment, the kids can learn important values from the elders and elders can embrace the modern thinking of kids. As long as there is respect and communication, the family dynamic will always feel fresh and alive, even in the hardest of times.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
As a doctor, I don’t get much time for holidaying, to be honest. However, when I am able to take some time out, I love to travel with my family. It gives me a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with them, while also interacting with new cultures and gaining incredible experiences. Whether it be scuba diving in Thailand, chasing after a metro in London, or searching for the best mumbaiya sandwich on the streets of Bombay, travelling is a great way to let go of my worries and enjoy life for a bit.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
Mrs India Queen Of Substance is not only a beauty contest but also a presentation of the vast and varied skills that the women of this country possess. This is a wonderful way to challenge myself, step out of the box and interact with other brilliant females, something I look forward to doing. This is also a platform for me to bring attention to a lot of social causes that I believe in.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
Despite a lot of progress in our thinking, I still see a fair amount of women who visit my hospital with the intent of knowing their unborn child’s gender to propagate female infanticide. I’m often horrified by the fact that it’s the elder females of the household that further this ideology. These very families also hypocritically claim to belong to a culture which treats females as devis. Female infanticide is an outdated, superstitious, backward, meaningless tradition that has no place in the 21st century, and needs to be abolished with immediacy.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
“This too shall pass.†One of the greatest tragedies and fortunes of life is that it tends to pass you by all too quickly. When I’m going through a difficult phase in my life, this quote gives me the courage to wait out the storm, because I know there’s a calm waiting after it. When I achieve something, it reminds me yet again that to stay grounded but also to enjoy that moment, because I won’t realize that joy’s absense until it’s already gone. And so goes on the circle of life, and I continue onward, because “this too shall passâ€.
- What is true “Sportsmanship†for you?
Sportsmanship, to me, is giving every single action of mine all of my spirit and effort, while being completely honest to who I am, irrespective of victory or loss. But it’s also about supporting my opponents by helping, guiding and encouraging them. Competition is about building each other up, not tearing each other down, after all.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
On a personal level, I believe that now is the time to give back to my community. As a well-reputed doctor and social influencer, I have the means and resources to forward this society’s ideologies and initiatives– particularly those surrounding women and special-needs children. Moreover, I would spend time helping this society improve its outreach and agendas through the platform awarded to me. Simply put, I would work to further the mission of this society, which is to improve the lives of others.
