KAVITA RAJWAR BISHT
- How you describe your own Personality and Persona.
I am an introvert from core however my personality has seen many hues and shades and today I feel, I represent someone who is casual yet sophisticated. I am friendly and adaptable yet I have a no nonsense attitude. I am calm and at pace with life. I am loyal and trustworthy and I like to spend time with myself than be a part of a crowd that doesn’t make sense to me. My persona is confident, warm, respectful to others and compassionate.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
I feel high when my juniors most of them now mothers, call me for guidance and I can lend them a sound advice usually in terms of career. Having worked in corporate 9-5 format, now most us find it difficult to juggle the responsibilities of work and family and choose the latter, but always have a quest inside to start again and do something that gives some space and time. And many of us look for inspiration and options among our former associates. The fact that many women are looking at me and deciding their course of action on my work status gives me a high, it also gives me a push that I cannot let them down and I have to keep finding ways for all of us to utilize our education and skills. And why not I am raised as a son by my parents, bestowed with best education and opportunities. And I am raising my daughter with all my effort and love and I definitely want her to become more than somebody’s wife and somebody’s mother. And I can’t let her down too.
- Define the true beauty.
Beauty like love is much much more and beyond that meets the eye. A little girl of a rickshaw puller grows to become IAS officer, her determination is beauty. A group of young people bring old and abandoned dogs from the street and nurture them, their compassion is beauty. A young girl fights for her right of education with most notorious herd of men, her valour is beauty. A young lad who could not stand on his feet properly, grows to become one of world’s most renowned chef, his fortitude is beauty. And there are endless examples of beauty and beautiful people. Beauty is the inspiration to be good, do good, to stand tall, not to lose hope and conquer.
- Do you consider yourself to be a giver or taker?
I need support from my family and friends to manage my work along with my family responsibilities, that way I am a taker, but at the same time I am also there, when they need me. I am a giver when it comes to handling my work and my employees as I always try to make them confident and comfortable in whatever they do. Everyday is a balance between lots of taking and giving in different prospective that make the day productive and successful.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
My idea of holidaying would be breaking from a regular routine, finding more time for myself and exploring new zones of self improvement. That can be achieved anywhere still my favourite place would be undoubtedly a beach. Though I am very fond of all the adventures activities but just lying at the beach and doing nothing is equally enriching.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
“What a time to be Alive” is a popular quote said on NDTV GoodTimes Channel. And that is why I am here. The opportunities and acceptability we have today is immense. After working in a corporate for more than a decade and then setting down to look after the kids, I was always wondering what could be the second inning of my career but amused to know that it can be anything I could never ever imagine. Today, 36 is the new 16. I am as enthusiastic and eager as a 16 year old who has a world of choices to follow for the rest of her life. I see this opportunity as a message to all of us young and old, immature and experienced, singles and mothers that the world is at our feet. Just go and get it.
- What do understand by Global warming and how can it be reduced to save earth?
Though we all may be aware of the technical definition of Global warming but I would like to put it in layman words as “The Earth is in bad shape and its condition is deteriorating and we all are responsible for it. “ The first and foremost thing to reduce Global warming is to be sensible and emphatic; if we can achieve that, everything else will start falling in place. At my level as a woman of the household, I can contribute in very small but very effective ways, this is what I can do 1. Always carrying a shopping bag so that I don’t come back with dozens of polybags to discard in my bin later. 2. Wrap the gift with newspaper rather than giftwrap paper . 3. Keep two dustbins one for one for vegetable /fruits peel etc. and another for paper plastic etc. 4. During the festival Diwali we see a lot of products coming in with unnecessary packing, avoid buying them, rather buy open products in bunch and make your own packing in a net bag. 5. Install “Sink to Toilet” water systems that reuses the sink water for toilet flushing. 6. Find ways to save energy in your day to today routine and we all know how. 7. Buy sensibly and as per the need. Let’s starting impressing mother Earth rather than impressing people around.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
“She needed a Hero, so she became one.”
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
Two causes that are very close to my heart but I have yet not got an opportunity to start working on, are reestablishing the school drop outs towards education or employment, so that the young youth gets a direction and not dodged towards anti social elements. Secondly, I would love to work towards finding ways on using solar energy as primary source of energy where it replaces electricity in our homes and fuel in our vehicles.
- Why do you think giving back to society is important?
Society is us, so as we take care of ourselves and our family members nurturing and protecting it , its important to take care of the society as well. Benefits of a better society with cleaner environment, positive and educated people, safe and sound atmosphere, will only come back to us. Also its important to take everybody along irrespective of the caste, religion, financial or social status because eventually all of them are very integral part of society. As my children grow they will be interacting the people other than their family members, my aging parents will be surrounded by people from the society only , that make my society so a healthy outlook there is extremely important. Basically it is not giving back to society but rather doing it for ourselves only.
