TINA THERESA LINCON
- How you describe your own Personality and Persona.
The girl next door, light hearted, simple, loving person who is passionate about living her dreams and every moment of life to the fullest. An independent, strong, confident woman who perceives the positive side of life, thinking that the glass is half full when it is half empty and who believes in the gift of life and power of womanhood. I love to be challenging and dynamic as the world does not evolve in a linear fashion. What I like about myself is my power to ‘forgive and forget’ which I believe is the greatest blessing inherited from my mother.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
Every time I was able to bring a smile to my fellow being’s face and when I understand that I am the reason for that beautiful curve, I consider that as the achievement that makes me feel high about myself. It is not about any honors or titles received but about the little little things that I was able to contribute to the small world around me.
- Define the true beauty.
True Beauty is not what you see in Indian Matrimonial Ads- “Looking for a fair, slim, beautiful tall girl. “ Neither is it defined by the designer clothes that you wear, the fashion trends that you hold on to, the makeup or accessories that you wear. True beauty is that which radiates from your inner soul, about how beautiful you are as a person from inside when no one is watching you and about accepting the flaws that you are born with. You are beautiful every time when you are able to bring a smile to your neighbour’s face.
- Do you consider yourself to be a giver or taker?
I consider myself to be both- a giver as well as a taker at the same time. Being a woman, I am bestowed myself with the blessings to contribute a part to the creation of nature through the gift of motherhood. To be a part of creation along with the Creator is the most wonderful thing on this earth And yes, I am a taker which I believe is nature’s gift to me in the form of my parents and better half that makes me a complete woman.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
As they say, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. My favourite Idea of Holidaying is to spend some time with nature, resting my tiring feet, head on the lap of mother nature thereby helping me to rejuvenate and refresh myself to get charged up again for the regular busy life amidst the uncertainties of a changing world. It’s not just your gadgets or phones that needs to be charged up, but we human beings as well to start fresh again with new thoughts and ideas to bring a change to the world around us.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
I believe that this is the platform to celebrate womanhood that breaks the stereotypes of the society that a married woman should confine herself within the four walls of her family. Every person born has a destined purpose for her life which is why she is being sent to this world. A platform like this will help to discover and fulfill that purpose and will act as the backbone to empower your strengths, voice your opinions, reach out to a wider world and fill up that space awaiting you to make the world around you a happier place to live.
- What do understand by Global warming and how can it be reduced to save earth?
Global warming or the increase in average global temperatures due to greenhouse effect is the most alarming threat that our earth is subjected to, that will eventually lead to the very extinction of human race itself over the years including other species of life. Though this is irreversible in nature, it can be controlled to an extent by being a part of the green revolution – to preserve forests, plant trees, go paperless, promote carpooling and follow Delhi’s Odd Even rule to avoid pollution, save as much electricity as possible, use fuel efficient vehicles and appliances, choose recycling over disposable products.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
The beautiful quote by Helen Keller-“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.” And that is exactly why there is a supreme Almighty power that you need to believe in. God is Love that needs to be felt with the heart.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
As a Charity Ambassador, first thing I would do is to raise voice against sexual harassment of women in India that is increasing day by day, to empower the victim survivors helping them to restart a new life without giving up hopes about life and to ensure that our Government redefines law to enforce maximum punishment that he deserves for the heinous, non-human act. I would work to uplift the downtrodden society, fight for the rights of women and children and raise awareness about autism. Abortion is another crime that I would raise my voice against to save a life.
- Why do you think giving back to society is important?
As the Bible says, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many." It is when you help your fellow beings that the purpose of your life is fulfilled and that is where the real satisfaction lies. At the end of the day, we are able to leave a footprint in the minds of the people only if we were able to bring that change to the society, however small it is.
